The terraPen A2X is our current-generation A2 pen plotter — a fast, precise coreXY machine built for computational and generative artists, and fully open source down to the mechanical design files and firmware.

This iteration moves to rigid SLS 3D-printed components in white nylon, replacing several machined parts from the original 'early bird' release. Fewer moving parts means fewer points of failure, smoother motion and easier servicing — set against the same sleek black frame and baseboard.

Under the hood is an ESP32-based controller running FluidNC, the same open motion firmware used across the terraPen range. Set up, monitor and control jobs from any browser on your network, or drive everything from our free desktop app, terraForge, which handles SVG, PDF and G-code files.

Every terraPen is hand-built to order rather than pulled from a shelf. Please allow up to 4 weeks from your order date for assembly, testing and dispatch, then standard shipping time on top (3–5 business days within the UK).

No assembly required — your terraPen arrives fully built. Unbox it, connect to its Wi-Fi, load some paper, and you're plotting. The Workflow guide walks through the full process.

Nothing to buy — terraForge is our free, open-source companion app for turning SVG, PDF or G-code into a plot. It also works alongside other open-source tools like vpype, DrawingBotV3, or PlotterFun if you'd rather use those.

Every machine is tested before it ships. If something arrives faulty or develops a fault, get in touch and we'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund. terraPen is also fully open source, so parts and firmware are never a dead end.
